
Steven N. Matles OHST, CHSP
Matles is a board certified Healthcare Safety Professional and an Occupational Safety and Health Technologist. He is trained as Incident Commander, Hazmat Technician, Weapons of Mass Destruction and OSHA-501 trainer. He is also an Emergency Medical Technician.
He currently works on the Healthcare Mutual Aid Evacuation Grant for hospitals in the Reno Nevada area and consults on hospital emergency preparedness issues. He is a member of the Inter-Hospital Coordinating Council and the Washoe Local Emergency Planning Committee.
Matles began working with HEICS in 1993 when he was Corporate Safety Officer at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Reno. He has been in the health and safety industry since 1977.

James I. Miller, MS
Miller wrote many papers on topics such a bioterrorism, HEICS, decontamination methods ad more. He has a background in microbiology and infectious diseases.
He was administrative director of two large medical center laboratories and entered the safety field by developing a safety coordinator program for Washoe Medical Center in Reno.
Miller is co-founder of the Inter-Hospital Coordinating Council, made up of emergency room personnel, emergency preparedness committee members and safety officers. Miller has also served as chariman of the Washoe Local Emergency Planning Committee.
